Local History Cafe - Update

The Brackenfield LHC got off to a really good start with fifteen people attending the first session on Tuesday 9th October. Katherine Brown and Chrissie Van Mierlo from Crafting Relationships introduced the project. Christine gave an overview of some of Brackenfield's history, arising from work being done for the Neighbourhood Plan. Photos prompted stimulating discussion about life before the reservoir, the Ashover Light Railway, Amber Valley Camp School and the Green before it was
levelled and when water had to be fetched from the spring near Trinity Chapel. There was plenty of chat over drinks and cake and ideas for future sessions were discussed. The next dates are Tuesday 6th November, Tuesday 11th December at Tuesday 8th January. If you missed the first session but would like to come along please contact Mike on 01773 521557 or 07940 510531.
