Heritage Cafe 25th February - change of speaker!
The advertised talk about the Chateaux of the Loire has been postponed. Tim Castledine has kindly agreed to return to conclude his tale about the Butterley Company. Even if you missed Tim at the January meeting, this is sure to be an absorbing story about the twilight years of this huge and successful company. All welcome.

Brackenfield Heritage Cafe
The New Year opened with a very interesting talk given by Tim Castledine about the origins of the Butterley Company, the main figures involved in the company's development and some of the extraordinary feats of engineering they undertook, including the construction of the single-span iron roof of grade l listed St Pancras Railway Station. It would be great to have Tim back to explain the company's decline and ultimate closure in 2009.
